Introducing Remey’s Inspirations

Hi there! I hope you are staying warm and cozy this winter. I hear the East Coast is being hit with some crazy snow. It’s chilly out here in SF but I cannot complaint.

I’ve been taking a break from my podcast to live and rest. Yes, in that order. Life has been busy, in a very good way. There are so many exciting things I want to share, but I just don’t have time to film anything right now. I’ve been trying to rest as much as I can between things. Weekends have been quiet, mostly napping with my cat Shibu and checking out new coffee shops.

Since I’m unable to make content right now, I wanted to curate some content for you all. I’ve added a Blog page to this website. I would love to share more inspirations across arts/culture, internet content, fashion, and music. I’m also adding some journal prompts at the end - hopefully these will help you set the tone for the week or reflect on this moment in your life.

With that being said, here’s the first Remey’s inspirations. Stay tuned for more!

With love, Remey

Friend Crush by Amber Akilla

I LOVE Amber Akilla and have spoken about her podcast in one of my episodes in Season 2. Amber is very eloquent and funny and I resonate with her perspective on friendships, boundaries, and personal growth. She’s also a pole dancer and I’ve been wanting to get into pole - so she’s a huge inspiration!

Culture

mai mai magazine

maimaimag.com

I came across this independent publication created by a collective of Vietnamese creatives, which aims to spotlight Vietnamese arts and culture domestically and internationally. This is their first issue and I am so excited to see

Fashion

caye bag

by Paloma Wool

I love a structured, vintage-inspired work bag. This one is 100% leather, can fit a 15' Macbook, and is made in Morocco. They also have different sizes and finishes if shiny leather is not your vibe. I'm partial to the mahogany shade. It's a subtl

Music

Take Care of You

Charlotte Day Wilson ft. King Princess, Amaarae & Meshell Ndegeocello

I recently went back to this remix of Take Care of You by Charlotte Day Wilson and it's been on repeat, especially Amaarae's part. So fire. I love the original with Syd too, but this one brings a different flavor. I love each artist's contributions to the song, both narratively and sonically. This song feels very “wintry” and was on repeat for a while, and I’m bringing it back this winter.
